240 vectors in 8-dimensional space, collapsed into a single plane by a projection that preserves everything that matters. The result is one of the most symmetric objects in mathematics - and one of the most striking.

About this print

E8 is the largest of the four exceptional root systems - a collection of 240 vectors in 8-dimensional space, arranged with a degree of symmetry that has no parallel in lower dimensions. It appears in string theory, in the classification of simple Lie algebras, and in the construction of the densest possible sphere packing in 8 dimensions. Mathematicians have been studying it for over a century and it continues to surprise them.

This print shows E8 projected onto its Coxeter plane - a canonical 2D view that preserves the full 30-fold rotational symmetry of the system. Each of the 240 roots falls into one of 8 concentric rings of 30 points. The 6,720 edges connect nearest-neighbour root pairs, each root touching exactly 56 others. Nothing is approximate or artistic - every position, every connection is mathematically exact.

The Signature series

Signature is a collection of mathematical, scientific and infographic visualisations - prime number distributions, evolutionary trees, geological timescales, and other structures that become something unexpected when rendered at print scale.

Each piece begins as a data-driven computational process and is developed into a finished artwork through a combination of custom code and design refinement. The aim is not to illustrate mathematics but to make the underlying structures visible - to find the image that was always inside the data.

The series draws on fields including number theory, evolutionary biology, palaeontology, topology, and information design.

Paper and printing

All prints are produced to order on 250gsm archival matte paper using pigment-based inks, chosen for colour accuracy and long-term stability.

Each print is rolled in acid-free tissue and shipped in a rigid cardboard tube, sealed for moisture protection, ready for framing on arrival.
